[Apologizes for the videos stretching the page. At the moment the spoiler tags are not working correctly. There are spoilers for the game in text I also cannot hide. Some information I had to find on Bulbapedia.]
Hello to all The Magical Leaf members,
Today is the day of another news post! Guess what this lovely one is about? That's right, this installment is a portion of our coverage for the new Pokémon Black and White game. Get ready for excitement! We will have further coverage of different topics in the future, but enjoy the Pokémon now. Who isn't talking about it in the world of games, anyway? The release has pumped up my blood for everything Isshu, regardless of how many people I've seen bash it! D< I've been watching clips of the new game, listening to its OST tracks, and am beginning to viciously scan the new list of complete Pokémon to learn their fascinating secrets. Not only that, but I'm sharing it with all of you! So prepare to be entertained.
One of the highlights in any game is its music. Pokémon in general has plenty of epic music to begin with, but these new tracks are tweaked a bit to give them a new feeling from the previous sounds of the songs. Judge for yourself if the new tracks are to your enjoyment or not below! Keep in mind that all the tracks I will link to may be deleted soon, so be sure to visit them right away. If they are, I'll search for them again. That's one of the reasons why this post is late - the entended versions I found were removed right before I posted this. We'll link to more of the tracks in the future.
Wild Battle;
When you enter a battle with a wild Pokémon you want to feel the blood rushing through your veins. The encounter of a Pokémon in the wild - so much tension when that music begins playing! It's magical; you can either catch it or destroy it with a powerful attack from your beloved Pokémon. The choice is yours. Does this music accelerate your heartbeat?
Team Plasma Battle;
Like every team, Team Plasma needs their own kick-butt theme song music in battle. Not much to say here except it does sound pretty intense, doesn't it?
Trainer Battle;
Along your Pokémon Master adventure you will run into numerous trainers to crush. It's fine and dandy to battle the regular wild Pokémon, but even when trainer Pokémon are weak and repetitive most of the time, it's nice to know you beat them and got some money out of the deal. Does this music bring along the crucial suspense of who will be the victor or end up crying on the floor for their fainted team?
Rival Battle;
Isn't this track nice and bubbly? It's perfect to show the good nature in a rival battle and the friendship between two trainers. Regular trainer battles are excellent for your interests, but rivals are the hot-shots you aim to impress. When will you run into them again, and how do you win against them in the next battle? The suspense is overwhelming.
Pokémon Center;
Everyone knows this track by heart. The cheerful, happy-go-lucky Pokémon Center music! It has to be visited now and again, and it's a fond place for battlers. This tone can never be forgotten, either. Nurse Joy would never allow you to forget.
Hiun City;
Hiun City is a major city which was introduced before the games were released. It's the one with the amazing 3D bridge and cool buildings, the port city. It has some nice music to cruise with, too.
Team Rocket Takeover;
For the sake of nostalgia and my surprise to see Team Rocket might be in B&W (!) listen to this.
N's Castle Arises and N's Castle
Now these two music pieces are /epic/. Not entirely sure who this N character is (a prince, I believe) but it's really cool. If he is a prince I'm so totally glad there is one in the games now. x3
A Legend Is Born (Reshiram Theme);
Prepare yourselves for the moment of truth - your first meeting with the legendary Pokémon, Reshiram! It's the white Fire/Dragon type. The music sounds pretty neat. Suspenseful and curious, then epic with a touch of a legendary arising.
Itching for a glance at the new Pokémon Black and White gameplay action? I've got a treat for you; watch the videos below! IGN covers the opening animation first and then ten minutes of the gameplay in the second video. Both are a bit different from the previous Pokémon games, of course, and I enjoy the appearance of everything. Nice colors and 3D in my Pokémon? Yes, please. It's a wonder they didn't wait until the 3DS next year, but it doesn't really matter. Not exactly certain of all the details, though I'll boast about being able to read the Hiragana and proud of it (but not the words ^^.
When you turn on your DS for a new game it's uncertain of what to expect, but expect this game to be interesting from the start. The opening animation shows some plot-heavy elements I suppose relate to Team Plasma, the new team / gang on the block in Isshu, or just the main plot in general. Just want is happening here is a complete mystery, especially when that boy is "crowned"? Hmm. Intriguing and nice to build some suspense. Perhaps a castle is relevant later in the game. Afterwards it goes on to show some of the regular gameplay (a portion of the contests, the bridge to Hiun City). Then the epic shot of the two legendary Pokémon Zekrom or Reshiram shows up on the main screen, depending if you are playing Black or White. Reshiram is in this clip.
Next on the gameplay side, a glimpse of your hometown is shown and it tells you it's Spring. Odd or not? Cool, though does that mean the seasons change - and when? It can't be real-time because it obviously would be Autumn. Anyways, you end up in your room immediately. Two childhood friends of yours, a girl and boy respectively named Bel and Cheren, are there and you speak with them. Bel can be described as an "airhead" type while Cheren is an "intelligent" character. One thing I've noticed about them is that they sure stick together quite a bit. x3 But you pick your Starter (go with Pokabu!) and you battle both of them. These two are both of your rivals, too. Bel picks the disadvantage type Starter to yours and Cheren picks the one who has the advantage. Afterwards, you see Professor Araragi. Nothing really specific happens with her. You don't have to save her from a rogue Pokémon or do any specific missions, as far as I see. She just gives you a PokéDex. In fact, the Starter Pokémon is actually a gift from your parents. That about sums this gameplay here, but go ahead and take a peek at the 3D action for yourselves.
