A wealthy family in Lilycove City, Hoenn region is holding a party to commemorate their daughter's eighteenth birthday. She is the heir to the family's grand wealth. The family's friends have been invited. However, the family is known for their interest in Pokémon battles, and have invited trainers from Hoenn to battle each other as entertainment, along with enjoying the party in general.
Partway through the final battle, the party is sabotaged. The eighteen-year-old daughter, annoyed and determined, decides to chase after the mysterious intruder (because she honestly hates ballroom gowns and loves adventure).
Characters needed: > The eighteen-year-old daughter. She's energetic and dislikes her pampered life. The rest is up to you. Switch her from daughter to son if you wish. > Trainers. Not all of them have to battle. The party may get interrupted before they have a chance. > The enemy... or enemies. Who they are is completely up to you. I would like a collection of antagonists; perhaps they are a branch family who wants the wealth? The enemies are special characters. I would like this to be a long role-play with no definite fate. As a result, the enemy needs to be persistent and well developed. As I said, a group of them is preferred, to keep the plot going.
Please note! Although I've given you guidelines as to how the role-play should start, after the party is interrupted, it's all up to you, the role-players. As head of the thread, I will be playing some unimportant NPCs and working on changing the atmosphere to give our characters some challenges. After the enemy appears, you will be driving the plot. The destiny of the plot is unknown. We might not even stay in Hoenn. So use your imagination to carve your fate!
We will be deciding the important characters in this board first. I will only post in the role-play board once we have the beginning figured out. For now, we need a handful of trainers, the princess-girl, and at least three enemies with a developed reason for crashing.
I... won't be playing any of these. Sort of. *shot* I'll be playing two Pokémon at the party whose trainer was invited, but is currently missing, so they came themselves. They will still be battling.
Let's plot!
* I know this sounds horribly cliche, but like I said, you drive the plot. Want something different? Throw in something different and show us how different you can be. ;)

Indeed interesting.
Right now I do not have any intention of joining, but I shall provide some basic ideas that I can come up with.
Whoever plays the daughter/son definitely should be ready to play them in an interesting fashion. I know that is just a brief idea of their character, but I dunno, I just feel they should have a described past of why they dislike the rich lifestyle and enjoy adventure. It's so commonly used and there's rarely much input into any reason. So I would like to see the person who does them do something great with that.
As for the enemies, wealth would an option, but it could always be something less expected. The daughter/son themselves, even a Pokémon in the family, one of the guests' Pokémon, or an artifact or object in the supposed mansion the enemies cannot find. Thus the enemies leave, or did find and nobody notices until later on. Perhaps a handful of the trains can trail after the daughter/son in order to keep them protected and whatnot.
Plus, one of the bad guys could be one of the family's guests or friends. For example, they could try to follow the daughter/son when they leave after the enemy and tag along to monitor their actions or something. They are extremely nice to the everyone at the party, but is the main one giving the enemies standing by intell from the party and when it is a probable time to strike. Because it seems sort of concise with the interruption being in the middle of the final battle and everyone is engrossed in that activity, totally off-guard. One of those "the daughter/son thought they were an excellent friend but end up stabbing them in the back and secretly laughing at their lack of knowledge" kind of person. I can especially picture this as being a sauve, cunning guy that no one has any negative thoughts about and is considered a precious friend. Makes for drama.
Maybe that is cliche too, but you know, by this point in reality I believe everything is to an extent. Haha, actually, if I could join I would like to play that person, but oh well.
Hopefully I helped?

Not sure if I'll join (though this trimester is looking better than the last x.x). It's just 'cuz of school and the fact that my writing is not coming out the way I intended it to. D<
However, if I were to join, I could definitely play the heiress. The description actually fits one of my pre-made characters quite well. x3 Though I'm not sure if her reason for hating the posh life is "great".
For the enemies' motives, the family's wealth would obviously make them a target. Of course, there can be other motives. Perhaps someone who wants the heir/heiress's hand in marriage, but was rejected and wants revenge (though they're a bit young...)? Maybe an arranged marriage was suddenly called off and the other family is mad? Or maybe this whole sabotage thing was an elaborate scheme concocted by none other than the heir/heiress themselves! And the "enemies" were hired to do it. I mean, she hates all this ball gown stuff, right? A sabotage seems like a fun way to get out of it and go off and adventure. I dunno, I'm trying to be unique here... xD;

I don't know about the idea of the heir setting up the sabotage. What I'm looking for is a somewhat sinister plot that can take many twists and turns along the way. With the heir's self sabotaging it, it feels like the plot has only one way to go- that is, the heir fesses up sooner or later.
You should totally join. ;w; Especially because you already have a character who fits! I like it when people can use characters they've been with for a while because I think they can put more emotion in their posts that way. Whenever I make up a character, I can't seem to make them... real enough. If I had a character who filled the needed spots, I would, but I don't have any antagonist characters (I fail with villains, OTL) or an heir/heiress character. ;-;
The thread's been posted, by the way. I'll add a link to the main post soon.

I don't see how the heir confessing would be any different than the "villain(s)" getting caught. Do you mean, rather, that the antagonist(s) should have a stronger motivation than a paycheck?
But then, if I were to use my charrie as the heiress, I doubt she could come up with that scheme, even if it was fairly simple. "Planning" just isn't in her vocabulary. xD
And I'm not sure how active I'll be. I don't want to join, especially with an important character (at least, the heir seems important so far xD;), and end up just replying sporadically or leaving for an extended period entirely. orz And I know what you mean about characters. I only have one charrie that completely pops to life for me, and even then, I'm learning new stuff about them all the time. Which is good; I think it adds to the realness.
Yeah, I saw the thread. =o ... -doesn't know what else to say xD;-
